Directed by Hector Babenco and starring Fernando Ramos da Silva, this film is the acknowledged inspiration that led Gregory Smith to Sao Paulo to found his innovative and splendidly successful Hummingbird program for street children. And it has inspired many others to work on behalf of street children, including myself.
