Banyák Kálmán

A native Hungarian, Kalman Banyak began studying the violin at age of three. When he was six he antered the Franz Liszt Axademy of Music in Budapest. (His theachers included Jeno Hubay and Franz Gabriel.) In 1951, he became concertmaster of the State Opera Company Orchestra and the following year won a prize int he Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poland. From 1952 to 1956 he appeared often as soloist whit the Budapest State Philharmonic Orchestra and served as concertmaster of both the State Operetta Theatre and State Opera. Recording:New York
